Bio

Ruiyao is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance at UNC Charlotte. She graduated from the Finance PhD program at Virginia Tech in May 2022. Her research interests include corporate finance, corporate governance, executive compensation, payout policy, and mergers and acquisitions. She currently teaches Financial Theory and Practice at the undergraduate level. She previously taught at Virginia Tech at the undergraduate level and received a Teaching Excellence Award. She obtained undergraduate degrees in accounting and finance from Purdue University and a graduate degree in finance from Syracuse University.
